HR and People Partner – 3 days/week (Pro‑Rata)

About the role

This part‑time HR and People Partner role sits at the heart of a respected international law firm in London. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the COO and Partners, you will combine day‑to‑day HR operations with strategic people development to drive performance, engagement and career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all HR matters, providing guidance on employment law and best practice.
• Lead employee‑relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and documentation.
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting to onboarding and induction.
• Oversee annual salary, bonus and performance appraisal cycles.
• Coordinate leave, absence and family‑leave administration.
• Produce HR reports and people‑analytics to support business decisions.
• Support workforce and succession planning, and conduct exit interviews to improve retention.
• Coach employees and senior leaders on career development and leadership capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within professional services or a law‑firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive people‑focused initiatives.
