HR and Wellbeing Officer

About the role
We are seeking an HR and Wellbeing Officer to join a well‑established organisation in Surrey. The role is permanent, offering 30‑35 hours per week and a salary up to £30,500. Reporting to the Director of People, you will work within a small, close‑knit HR team to support employees and managers across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first‑line HR advice on employment legislation, policies and day‑to‑day people matters.
- Manage employee‑relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance and absence issues.
- Produce HR reports and metrics such as absence trends and training data.
- Coordinate wellbeing programmes that boost engagement and a positive culture.
- Support the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda through action plans and committee work.
- Assist with recruitment – drafting job adverts, coordinating interviews and supporting selection.
- Oversee onboarding to ensure a smooth start for new hires.
- Contribute to wider people projects related to wellbeing, EDI and strategic initiatives.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a small team.
Required skills
- HR advisory and employee‑relations experience.
- Report writing and data analysis.
- Project coordination for wellbeing and EDI initiatives.
