HR Assistant Manager – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Assistant Manager for a six‑month contract within a fast‑growing financial services bank. The position is hybrid, based in the City of London, and offers a salary up to £60,000.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic HR advice to managers on employee relations, investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Oversee payroll accuracy and approvals across multiple locations and manage benefits administration.
• Lead the annual Fitness and Propriety certification process for senior managers under SMCR.
• Support and develop HR Assistants, coordinate employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Ensure HR policies, procedures and workflows remain compliant with GDPR and current legislation.
• Contribute to HR projects focused on continuous improvement and provide operational cover for the team.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 or 7 (or Associate/Chartered Membership).
• 4‑5 years experience at HR Advisor or HR Manager level within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance and HR best practice.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
