HR Assistant – Temp to Permanent, West London

About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Assistant to support the Head of Human Resources & Operations for a fast‑growing online retailer. This temporary role (4‑5 weeks) will transition into a permanent position, offering the chance to develop your HR career in a dynamic, people‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies and coordinating interviews
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
• Assist with onboarding and new starter administration
• Prepare HR documentation such as contracts and offer letters
• Provide payroll support by supplying employee data
• Respond to employee queries on HR policies and procedures
• Coordinate training and development activities
• Assist with performance management processes
• Support employee engagement initiatives and HR projects
• Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and company policies

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar role
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities
• Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Professional handling of confidential information
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
