HR Business Partner

About the role

The role is for an experienced HR Business Partner to support internal teams across the South West and London for a 12‑month reform project in the education sector. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, aligning HR strategy with business objectives and fostering a supportive, high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to design and deliver a people strategy that meets business goals.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management and talent development.
• Lead HR projects such as restructuring, TUPE transfers and cultural transformation initiatives.
• Manage complex employee relations cases in line with UK employment law and union guidance.
• Collaborate with Centres of Excellence for recruitment, learning & development and talent acquisition.
• Analyse workforce data to identify trends and inform decision‑making.
• Promote DEI initiatives and drive employee engagement across the region.
• Support succession planning and organisational development while ensuring policy compliance.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience); Level 7 under consideration.
• Proven HR Business Partner experience within a UK organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, TUPE, redundancy and complex ER cases.
• Ability to influence, coach and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience managing change, restructures and organisational development initiatives.
• Background in local government, not‑for‑profit, healthcare, social care or education sectors.
