HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join a small, dynamic team supporting a complex, operationally focused manufacturing business in the North East of England. Reporting to the UK HR Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, driving people solutions that enhance performance, engagement and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice on employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management.
• Support managers in developing leadership capability, accountability and workforce productivity.
• Lead and contribute to organisational change initiatives, including restructures, workforce planning and cultural transformation.
• Manage recruitment for salaried, hourly, skilled trades and professional roles, and oversee onboarding and exit processes.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies, employment legislation and risk mitigation.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR reporting, compliance and people processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor, preferably within a manufacturing or operational environment.
• Strong employee‑relations background with the ability to manage complex cases.
• Commercial awareness and the credibility to influence at all organisational levels.
• Experience delivering organisational change, workforce development and recruitment across diverse roles.
