HR Business Partner – Multi‑Site Operations

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious HR Business Partner to join a fast‑growing multi‑site organisation in Exeter. The role will partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver people strategies that support rapid expansion and transformation across the South West.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders, aligning people strategy with business growth.
• Lead attrition and engagement initiatives, analysing trends and implementing retention actions.
• Provide hands‑on HR support across multiple operational sites, especially in the South West.
• Ensure consistency of HR policies, job descriptions, benefits and reward structures.
• Support change programmes, including integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Coach managers on employee relations, performance management and leadership development.
• Contribute to workforce planning, organisational design and headcount forecasting.
• Analyse HR data and produce reports to inform decision‑making.
• Collaborate with wider HR teams to deliver group‑wide initiatives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a multi‑site environment.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, construction or similar operational sectors.
• Ability to work strategically and hands‑on in a fast‑paced business.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder‑management skills with senior leadership.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Analytical mindset with experience interpreting HR data.
• Proactive, resilient and comfortable managing change.
