HR Business Partner – Swindon

About the role

The role sits within a well‑established organisation that operates a substantial base in Swindon and forms part of an international group. The business is evolving rapidly, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to influence employee experience and drive HR effectiveness. You will work hands‑on, partnering closely with managers and employees while bringing a commercial mindset to everyday HR activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• Own a broad range of Employee Relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance issues.
• Coach managers to handle people‑related challenges confidently and consistently.
• Develop and deliver practical training to strengthen management capability.
• Support performance management processes and contribute to talent, succession and capability planning.
• Assist with annual reward activities such as pay reviews and bonus processes.
• Review and streamline HR processes, introducing simpler, more effective ways of working.
• Use people data and HR metrics to identify trends and inform decisions.
• Support the effective use and development of HR systems and reporting, exploring digital tools to improve delivery.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent with hands‑on HR experience.
• Strong generalist background with solid Employee Relations exposure and knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Proven ability to manage absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters independently.
• Excellent judgement, risk‑aware decision‑making and strong communication/relationship‑building skills.
• Confidence to coach, challenge and influence managers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Practical, solutions‑focused approach with good IT and HR systems awareness.
