HR Generalist – 8 Month Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

As an HR Generalist you will provide comprehensive, proactive support to the HR Manager, HRG Lead and the wider business across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. Working as a trusted partner for retail, distribution and corporate stakeholders, you will lead employee‑relations activity, build manager capability and help deliver people initiatives throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR support for retail and distribution teams in the UK, Ireland and Nordics.
• Act as first point of contact for employee‑relations matters, managing cases such as absence, disciplinaries, grievances, performance and capability issues.
• Coach and advise managers on people matters, ensuring consistent and confident handling of issues.
• Build strong relationships with store managers, distribution leaders and corporate stakeholders.
• Use people data and insights to identify trends, highlight risks and support decision‑making.
• Support talent reviews, engagement initiatives, workforce planning and Gender Pay Gap reporting.
• Conduct regular store and site visits to provide hands‑on support, training and guidance.
• Assist with organisational change projects, ensuring fair and compliant delivery of people processes.
• Create and maintain HR resources, tools and guidance for managers and employees.
• Collaborate with the wider EU HR team to share best practice and deliver a consistent employee experience.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or Employee Relations Advisor.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent practical HR experience.
• Proven experience managing employee‑relations cases end‑to‑end.
• Background in multi‑site retail or fast‑paced customer‑facing environments.
• Experience supporting managers with complex people matters.
• Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions, preferably the UK, Ireland and Nordics.
