HR Manager – Employee Relations (Temporary)

About the role

Our client in Witham is looking for an experienced HR Manager on a temporary basis (approximately 3‑6 months). The role is full‑time, office‑based and offers free on‑site parking. It focuses heavily on complex Employee Relations cases and will report directly to the Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex Employee Relations matters from initiation to resolution, including misconduct, disciplinary, grievance, capability and long‑term sickness cases.
• Provide expert HR advice to Directors, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
• Identify ER trends, propose proactive solutions and mitigate legal and business risk.
• Prepare documentation and evidence for Employment Tribunal proceedings when required.
• Review, interpret and update HR policies and procedures to maintain legal compliance and best practice.
• Support general HR activities and collaborate closely with the Director on day‑to‑day HR issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex Employee Relations cases in a senior or standalone HR role.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
