HR Manager

About the role

Reed is seeking an experienced HR professional to join a growing business in South West England. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will shape the HR function and provide hands‑on support across the entire employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries, handling employee relations, absence, conduct and capability issues.
• Manage disciplinary, grievance and absence processes, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
• Coordinate the annual appraisal and performance review process, supporting managers with objectives and development plans.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment activities, from job description drafting to interview coordination and offer management.
• Oversee onboarding, contracts, right‑to‑work checks and induction programmes.
• Schedule and deliver internal and external training, maintain CPD records and monitor development plans.
• Contribute to HR projects, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR, preferably within a fast‑growing organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Ability to manage employee relations, performance management and recruitment processes.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills for managers and staff.
