HR Manager – Lead People Strategy & Employee Experience

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead a professional, proactive and compliant HR service across multiple sites. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will partner with senior leaders to shape people practices, support operational managers and enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• Lead and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence matters.
• Coach managers on the effective application of HR policies, procedures and people‑management practices.
• Ensure HR policies remain compliant with current employment legislation and best practice.
• Monitor changes in employment law and implement required updates.
• Manage recruitment and onboarding to deliver a positive candidate experience.
• Support workforce planning and talent attraction initiatives.
• Coordinate learning and development activities and management development programmes.
• Drive employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate HR systems, records and reporting in line with GDPR requirements.
• Liaise with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate administration.
• Produce HR metrics and management information to support business decision‑making.
• Lead and develop the HR Business Partner function and foster collaborative HR service across locations.

Required profile

• Experienced HR professional with a strong generalist background.
• Confidence to work autonomously in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Ability to partner closely with senior leaders and managers.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
