HR Manager – Operations Focused

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established, multi‑site QSR business to recruit an experienced HR Manager. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will act as a trusted advisor to operations, lead employee‑relations matters and support broader people initiatives across a large portfolio of sites in England and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day employee‑relations advice to managers and senior stakeholders.
• Lead disciplinary, grievance and suspension cases, including investigations and hearings.
• Manage redundancy processes, consultations, communications and calculations.
• Oversee settlement agreements and prepare for employment tribunals.
• Advise on sickness, capability, disability matters and reasonable adjustments.
• Ensure right‑to‑work documentation compliance and support internal audits.
• Liaise with Immigration Enforcement when required.
• Produce employment and immigration law updates for the business.
• Support Gender Pay Gap reporting and data collation.
• Lead HR projects focused on employee engagement, retention and operational improvement.
• Deliver HR training and workshops to managers and operational teams across the UK.
• Line‑manage and develop two junior HR team members.

Required profile

• Proven HR experience within the QSR, hospitality or retail sector, handling shift, casual and seasonal patterns.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
• Confident managing complex and sensitive employee‑relations cases end‑to‑end.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and commercially minded.
• Ability to build strong relationships with department leaders.
• Comfortable presenting and training large groups.

Required skills

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £60,000 and £65,000 per year.
• Primarily office‑based role in Maidenhead with hybrid working (3 days in office).
• Occasional travel across the UK to support operational teams and training.
