HR Officer – Generalist Role

About the role

sportscotland is seeking an HR Officer to act as the primary contact for operational HR matters across the organisation. You will work proactively with managers and staff, providing professional advice and ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally compliant approach.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance to managers and employees.
• Support trade‑union consultation and help implement HR policies.
• Assist with organisational change initiatives and employee relations.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the iTrent HR system.
• Coordinate with the managed payroll provider to ensure timely processing.

Required profile

• Minimum CIPD Certificate in People Practice (or equivalent) or demonstrable relevant experience.
• Strong generalist HR experience with a sound understanding of employment law.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
