HR Officer – Primary School (Term Time)

About the role

We are looking for an organised and proactive HR Officer to support high‑quality HR services within a primary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting. The role is term‑time only and will help ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant and aligned with our inclusive values.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day HR operations including recruitment, payroll administration and employee relations.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with employment law.
• Provide HR advice and casework support to staff and school leadership.
• Develop and update HR policies and processes to meet school priorities.

Required profile

• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics.
• Recent (last 3 years) professional development in HR practice.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements (or willingness to undertake training).
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities, with confidence handling confidential information.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build relationships.
