HR Operations Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a People Operations Adviser to join our dynamic People Operations team at a leading university in South East London. The role provides multi‑functional HR support and serves as the first point of contact for employee HR queries.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the initial contact for general HR queries received via phone, chat and other channels.
• Research solutions and escalate complex issues to ER Specialists or relevant Centres of Expertise.
• Collaborate with Centres of Expertise to implement HR strategies and frameworks.
• Perform HR administration tasks using established tools, templates and HR systems.
• Identify and propose improvements to HR service delivery to enhance employee experience and meet SLAs.
• Develop specialist HR knowledge to provide more effective first‑line advice.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of policies, procedures and systems.

Required profile

• Significant experience providing generalist HR support across multiple specialisms.
• Proven track record in customer service and query resolution.
• Extensive experience in HR administration and interpreting policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build professional relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR databases.
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
