HR Operations Manager – People Team Lead

About the role

This People Operations Manager role leads a small, passionate HR team through a period of transformation for a growing, community‑focused organisation. You will report to the Head of People and be responsible for delivering high‑quality HR services across the employee life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of four (3 People Advisors and 1 Administrator) to ensure excellent HR service delivery.
• Oversee employee relations cases, coaching advisors on routine issues and handling complex matters.
• Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, acting as the escalation point for the team.
• Partner with directorates to support strategic people initiatives and cultural change.
• Drive change management, TUPE processes, and wellbeing programmes during organisational change.
• Lead key projects such as EDI strategy, Line Manager Capability Programme, Behavioural Framework launch, employee engagement tools, and terms & conditions review.

Required profile

• Proven HR management experience with strong expertise in complex employee‑relations casework.
• Ability to navigate change and ambiguity with confidence.
• Excellent coaching, influencing and relationship‑building skills.
• Strategic thinker who can also deliver hands‑on solutions.
• Experience in regulated environments is a plus.
