HSEQ Lead

About the role

The HSEQ Lead will drive health, safety, environment and quality performance across our utilities contracts. Reporting to the Head of HSEQ, you will act as the key liaison between the central HSEQ team, clients and operational staff, ensuring that all activities meet regulatory and corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor HSEQ processes, reports and safe systems of work on site and remotely.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, quality checks and verification inspections; follow up on findings and non‑conformances.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, produce high‑quality reports and ensure timely closure.
• Prepare weekly and monthly HSEQ compliance, performance and issue reports for internal and client meetings.
• Identify, assess and manage risks, driving continuous improvement and liaising with internal HSEQ teams and external auditors.
• Support training and competency programmes to achieve high standards of compliance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and promote safe behaviours across site and office.
• Assist with ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, Achilles, ROSPA and other accreditation activities.

Required profile

• Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent L6 qualification).
• Lead Investigator certification or comparable experience.
• Proven experience in HSEQ management within utilities or construction environments.
• Strong analytical, reporting and investigative skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards.
• Familiarity with Achilles and ROSPA accreditation processes.
