HSEQ Officer – Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

About the role

Grain is expanding its fibre network across towns and cities in England. The HSEQ Officer will play a key part in supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and high‑quality civil engineering and telecoms construction activities. Working closely with site teams and subcontractors, the officer will help ensure that all operations align with internal and external health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support site teams and subcontractors to achieve safe and compliant construction outcomes.
• Monitor and verify that civil engineering and telecoms works meet internal HSEQ policies and external regulations.
• Promote a positive safety culture across project sites.
• Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement of quality performance throughout the construction process.

• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environment and quality standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse site personnel and external contractors.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to compliance.
