Human Resources Manager & Facilities Co-Ordinator

About the role

Freightserve is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager & Facilities Co‑Ordinator to support the smooth operation and growth of its Manchester‑based freight forwarding business. The role combines people management, compliance and a safe, well‑maintained workplace, acting as a trusted point of contact for both employees and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts, employee records and HR policies.
• Support managers with employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment law and internal procedures.
• Oversee payroll accuracy as the liaison between the outsourced provider and staff.
• Maintain HR systems, documentation and reporting; track trends such as overtime, sickness and retention.
• Coordinate training, appraisals and internal communications.
• Provide HR data and operational insights to leadership.
• Manage facilities, suppliers and office operations, working closely with health and safety consultants.

Required profile

• CIPD qualification.
• 5‑10 years of HR experience within UK employment law and best practice.
• Proven experience managing facilities, suppliers or office operations.
• Strong IT/system savviness.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
