Human Resources Manager

About the role

Vacgen Ltd is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across its ultra‑high vacuum technology business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will shape people strategy, support business growth and foster a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team on strategic HR initiatives and projects.
• Lead recruitment, workforce planning and talent acquisition to support growth.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and redundancy.
• Oversee talent development, succession planning and performance management processes.
• Maintain and develop HR policies and procedures in line with legislation.
• Manage HR systems, employee records and ensure GDPR compliance.
• Coordinate payroll through an outsourced bureau, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Build relationships with external providers such as recruitment agencies and training partners.
• Support occupational health, wellbeing initiatives and produce HR reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR professional with both strategic and hands‑on operational expertise.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice HR policies.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and coach managers on people management.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
