Human Resources Manager – West Sussex

About the role

The organisation is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead its HR function in West Sussex. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will oversee a team of three and drive a people‑first strategy that supports both strategic objectives and day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the HR team, delivering proactive, solution‑focused services.
• Manage the HR departmental budget, ensuring robust financial planning and resource allocation.
• Oversee payroll to guarantee accurate and timely employee payments.
• Develop and maintain a competitive reward and benefits programme.
• Lead learning and development initiatives to build capability across the business.
• Handle complex employee‑relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and organisational change issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR policies, processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating at HR Manager level within a similar sized organisation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small HR team.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and best practice in employee relations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and payroll functions.
