Humanities Teacher (History, RE & Geography) – Full‑time

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position is for a Humanities Teacher (or Early‑Career Teacher) covering History, Religious Education and Geography in a secondary school in the Borough of Lambeth. The role starts in September and offers the chance to work within an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted‑rated school that values creativity and strong academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 across History, RE and Geography.
• Contribute to the Humanities department’s development, including curriculum design and assessment.
• Take on optional teaching‑leadership responsibilities such as KS3 or KS4 coordination and pastoral duties.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of experienced teachers and graduate teaching assistants to raise student attainment.
• Participate in in‑house training and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or in the process of obtaining it.
• Strong academic background (relevant degree, A‑levels and GCSEs).
• Demonstrated ability to meet the Teaching Standards at a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level.
• Willingness to work as part of a large Humanities team and to receive feedback.

Required skills

• Effective classroom management and lesson planning.
• Ability to assess and track student progress across multiple key stages.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
