Humanities Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join our small secondary school in Bedford from September. The role covers teaching History, Geography and Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop critical thinking and a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with a supportive teaching team to share ideas and resources.
• Contribute to extracurricular trips, enrichment activities and whole‑school events.
• Maintain high expectations and build positive relationships with all learners.

Required profile

• Passion for Humanities and ability to spark curiosity in young people.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student wellbeing.
• Creative and willing to try innovative teaching approaches.
• Team‑player who enjoys working in a close‑knit community.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it; applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome.
