Humanities Teacher (RE, Sociology & History) – Secondary School

About the role

A welcoming secondary school in Maidstone is looking for a versatile Humanities Teacher to join its team from September. The successful candidate will teach Religious Education, Sociology and History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of extending the contract into 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in RE, Sociology and History.
• Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 optional depending on experience).
• Develop students' analytical, evaluative and written communication skills.
• Assess, track and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities department.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in RE, Sociology and History.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (early career teachers are welcome).
• Ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
• Effective classroom management and organisational skills.
