HVAC Technician

About the role

As an HVAC Technician at Veolia you will help deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for our customers while supporting the protection of natural resources. You will work on a variety of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems and carry out repairs.
• Complete site documentation before and after tasks.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors.
• Conduct risk assessments for maintenance tasks and keep them current.
• Update and maintain maintenance task lists.
• Ensure all work complies with site and Veolia EHS rules.
• Provide flexibility around maintenance shutdowns.
• Participate in air‑conditioning plant audits and follow up on actions.
• Prepare, compile and manage quotations and work approvals.
• Maintain plant asset and F‑gas register.
• Stand‑by on call rota as required.

Required profile

• Recognised trade qualification – City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air‑conditioning (7189) or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar role with solid understanding of utilities systems.
• Willingness to expand knowledge into mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with Building Management Systems.
• Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management Work Order system.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems; mechanical experience is a distinct advantage.
• Ability to pass a Security Clearance check.

Required skills

• City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air‑conditioning (7189) qualification.
• Building Management Systems (BMS) operation.
• Preventive Maintenance Systems knowledge.
• Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work‑order handling.
• Electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.
• Mechanical systems knowledge.
• F‑gas register management.
