IBM DataStage Engineer – Data Migration (6 months)

About the role

We are supporting a major data transformation programme that aims to migrate and modernise enterprise data platforms. As an IBM DataStage Engineer you will play a key role in extracting, transforming and loading data from a large‑scale data warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions using IBM DataStage.
• Support and troubleshoot existing ETL processes across a complex data landscape.
• Participate in the migration of data from a Netezza data warehouse to modern platforms.
• Collaborate with Azure Data Factory pipelines and integrate with downstream reporting tools.
• Ensure data quality and performance throughout the migration programme.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an IBM DataStage Engineer.
• Strong SQL development skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Background in large‑scale data migration projects.

Required skills

• IBM DataStage ETL development, support and maintenance.
• SQL programming.
• Azure Data Factory.
• Netezza (highly desirable).
• Cognos exposure (beneficial).

What we offer

• Day rate of £475‑£525 (outside IR35).
• Initial 6‑month contract with possibility of extension.
• Hybrid working – on‑site in Birmingham once or twice a week.
