About the role
We are supporting a major data transformation programme that aims to migrate and modernise enterprise data platforms. As an IBM DataStage Engineer you will play a key role in extracting, transforming and loading data from a large‑scale data warehouse environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions using IBM DataStage.
- Support and troubleshoot existing ETL processes across a complex data landscape.
- Participate in the migration of data from a Netezza data warehouse to modern platforms.
- Collaborate with Azure Data Factory pipelines and integrate with downstream reporting tools.
- Ensure data quality and performance throughout the migration programme.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an IBM DataStage Engineer.
- Strong SQL development skills.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory.
- Background in large‑scale data migration projects.
Required skills
- IBM DataStage ETL development, support and maintenance.
- SQL programming.
- Azure Data Factory.
- Netezza (highly desirable).
- Cognos exposure (beneficial).
What we offer
- Day rate of £475‑£525 (outside IR35).
- Initial 6‑month contract with possibility of extension.
- Hybrid working – on‑site in Birmingham once or twice a week.
