About the role
Join South Gloucestershire Council’s ICT team as a Helpdesk Technician, providing first‑line technical support to education users in Yate. This full‑time temporary role involves remote assistance, phone support and occasional on‑site visits.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver first‑line remote support via telephone and remote tools, following established processes.
- Log and manage service‑desk enquiries using ConnectWise Manage (desirable) or similar software.
- Perform on‑site visits when required to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain and configure Windows PCs and related hardware.
- Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications and other standard software.
- Prioritise workload to meet peak demand and ensure timely resolutions.
Required profile
- Experience working in a busy service‑desk environment.
- Proficiency with remote support tools and service‑desk software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer‑facing interactions.
- Ability to set up, adjust and maintain technical equipment.
