ICT Technician

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking ICT Technicians to support schools in the Preston area. You will work directly with teachers, pupils and staff to ensure the school’s technology environment runs smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Install new software and upgrade existing applications across school devices.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support for teachers, pupils and administrative staff.
• Maintain and develop the school’s website and intranet.
• Train teachers, students and other staff on the use of ICT tools.
• Ensure internet systems are secure and meet child‑protection standards.

Required profile

• Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware and software commonly used in schools.
• Recent experience working in a school or similar educational setting.
• Previous experience in a comparable ICT support role.
• Hardworking, flexible and able to use initiative.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
• Willingness to travel locally on a part‑time or full‑time basis.
