Immigration Director (Level 2 Solicitor)

About the role

The client, a top‑tier law firm recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers, seeks an experienced Immigration Level 2 Accredited Solicitor to join as Immigration Director. Reporting directly to the Board, you will lead the immigration department, overseeing a diverse caseload and a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and ensure performance targets are met.
• Supervise and mentor solicitors, trainee solicitors and caseworkers.
• Manage complex immigration matters, including Tier 1 visas, asylum claims, human‑rights cases, detained clients, trafficking and torture victims.
• Oversee appeals from first‑instance tribunals through to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
• Prepare and submit Legal Aid funding applications and Home Office submissions.
• Draft legal documents such as witness statements and evidence bundles.
• Deliver training and professional development within the department.

Required profile

• Level 2 Accredited Immigration Solicitor with substantial experience in high‑net‑worth and corporate immigration matters.
• Proven track record of handling complex appeals and human‑rights cases.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work closely with senior partners and the Board.
