Immunisation Nurse – Community Health

About the role
The Immunisation Nurse joins a proactive, skill‑mix team delivering high‑quality vaccination services to children, young people and their families across the Mersey Care footprint. You will work autonomously and collaboratively, travelling in your own vehicle to provide routine and campaign immunisations.
Key responsibilities
- Support and deliver the national childhood immunisation programme.
- Respond to disease outbreaks and organise out‑of‑schedule vaccinations following the Green Book guidelines.
- Plan, deliver and optimise routine immunisation programmes for 0‑19 year olds (and 0‑25 for children with specialist educational needs).
- Administer school‑age campaigns, including MMR, HPV, Meningitis, School Leaver Booster, Influenza and other NHS‑directed vaccines.
Required profile
- Dynamic, highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary immunisation team.
- In‑depth knowledge of public health vaccination principles and national childhood and adult programmes.
- Commitment to reducing health inequalities and willingness to travel across the service area.
