Import Coordinator

About the role
We are seeking an Import Coordinator to join a leading freight forwarder in the Heathrow area. The role operates on a 4‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off shift covering 7 am‑7 pm, supporting the import flow for a high volume of shipments.
Key responsibilities
- Generate pre‑alerts and complete import customs entries.
- Manage origin documentation and coordinate transport deliveries.
- Maintain internal and external communication, liaising with customers by email and telephone.
- Perform job costing, invoicing and update the internal system.
- Handle a high volume of import shipments and assist customers with their supply‑chain requirements.
- Ensure smooth information flow between systems and manage origin offices.
Required profile
- Proactive daily execution of duties and ability to cover for colleagues during absences.
- Strong customer‑service orientation with the capacity to manage multiple customers and clearances each day.
- Accuracy in processing various customs entry types.
- Financial awareness and ability to work independently.
- Capability to resolve minor issues, disputes or complaints.
