Import Coordinator (Ocean Freight)

About the role

We are seeking an Import Coordinator to join a global logistics provider’s Import team in Romford. The role focuses on managing full‑cycle ocean freight imports, ensuring containers move smoothly from departure to delivery across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate quotes and rates for Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments.
• Liaise with shipping lines, track shipments and keep clients informed of any issues.
• Coordinate with overseas offices to align shipment schedules.
• Arrange container unstuffing, work with warehouse suppliers, and manage customs clearance.
• Issue Notices of Arrival (NOA), invoices, and resolve invoice disputes.
• Prepare manifests and related documentation.
• Collaborate with warehousing and clearing agents for devanning.
• Release cargo and organise deliveries throughout the UK and Ireland.

Required profile

• Experience in ocean freight import operations.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
• Attention to detail for costing, charging and profit maximisation.
