Import Export Officer

About the role

We are seeking an Import Export Officer to manage international cargo movements between the UK and global markets. The role involves coordinating sea, air and road shipments, handling customs documentation and ensuring smooth delivery for our logistics clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end cargo shipments from quotation to final delivery.
• Provide quotations, negotiate rates with carriers, hauliers and suppliers.
• Receive and verify customer bookings, create and maintain job files.
• Liaise with agents, shipping lines, warehouses, and other stakeholders to keep consignments on schedule.
• Prepare, review and submit customs declarations, staying current with regulations.
• Raise documentation, perform job costing, invoice clients and close job files.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service and meet required timeframes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in import/export logistics.
• Strong knowledge of ocean/sea freight, air freight and road freight procedures.
• Experience with customs clearance and completing CDS declarations.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding operations and port processes.
• Commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability.

Required skills

• ASM Sequoia customs declaration software.
• BoxTop job creation and costing system.
• Proficiency with IT systems and client portals.
