Import Freight Operator (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a temporary Import Freight Operator to support our busy operations at Trafford Park during the peak season. You will join an established global logistics team and help ensure smooth import shipments for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Use CargoWise to access and track import shipments, recording details on a shared sheet.
• Notify customers when shipments are checked‑in and request delivery slots.
• Obtain and follow any outstanding customs clearance instructions.
• Book deliveries by sending delivery notes to transport providers.
• Clear shipments through the in‑house customs system.
• Contact airlines or origins to resolve issues and inform customers of any delays.
• Upload proof of delivery (POD) to CargoWise once shipments are delivered.
• Generate invoices for shipments using CargoWise.

Required profile

• Essential experience in freight forwarding imports.
• Previous air‑freight or sea‑freight import operations preferred.
• Customs handling experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of logistics processes and attention to detail.
• Ability to work quickly, independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CargoWise.
• Competent use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Share (SharePoint).
• Familiarity with other freight‑forwarding software.
