In-House Legal Counsel – Private Client

About the role

We are seeking an In‑House Legal Counsel to join our private client team in Bristol. The role focuses on supervising wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney, with no billable targets and flexible working options.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced solicitors and technical professionals to ensure high‑quality case progression.
• Provide quality assurance by reviewing wills, trusts and LPA documents for legal and technical accuracy.
• Give feedback and suggest changes to meet clients’ estate‑planning objectives.
• Liaise closely with the estate‑planning team, offering technical support and answering queries.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified as a solicitor, CILEX or STEP member, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of estate planning and solid wills‑writing experience.
• Experience of tax planning within lifetime planning contexts.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent team‑working abilities and the capacity to build positive relationships.

What we offer

• Salary range £30,001 – £45,000 per year.
