In-house Solicitor – Construction & Engineering

About the role

Join a leading environmental, engineering and technical services organisation as an In‑house Solicitor. You will work within a busy legal team in Cheshire, providing commercial and corporate advice while supporting the company’s international growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to business units, working closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including FIDIC, NEC and JCT forms used in construction and engineering projects.
• Support international expansion activities such as acquisitions, restructures and incorporations.
• Advise on corporate governance and compliance across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the MEA region.
• Assist with the integration of new businesses to ensure alignment with group‑wide legal and compliance standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law.
• Experience handling contracts in the construction or engineering sectors.
• Knowledge of international legal frameworks and cross‑border transactions.
• Commercially minded with the ability to deliver pragmatic advice in a fast‑paced environment.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and confident working with senior stakeholders.
