About the role
The Inclusion Support Assistant will work within the SEND department of a welcoming secondary school in Enfield, supporting pupils with additional learning needs across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will help students access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Provide classroom‑based support for pupils with autism, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and social‑emotional challenges.
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Adapt learning materials and resources where appropriate.
- Encourage student independence, resilience and positive behaviour.
- Monitor academic and personal progress and support emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral teams.
Required profile
- Passionate about inclusive education.
- Patient, empathetic and a strong communicator.
- Adaptable, proactive and committed to safeguarding.
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school, youth work, care or mentoring setting.
