Inclusive Learning Lecturer – Fixed Term (15 months)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Inclusive Learning Lecturer to join New College Swindon on a 15‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on delivering personalised, inclusive education for young people with additional needs, helping them progress academically, socially and towards independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of SEND learners.
• Act as personal tutor, monitoring academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
• Design and implement personalised learning programmes and assess learner outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with Learning Support staff and curriculum teams to ensure appropriate support.
• Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment and contribute to curriculum development.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.

Required profile

• Level 5 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within college timescales).
• Significant recent experience working with learners with SEND.
• Understanding of assessment practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or commitment to achieve within 24 months).
• Genuine passion for inclusive education.

Required skills

• Experience delivering inclusive lessons for SEND students.
• Ability to develop personalised learning programmes.
• Proficiency in using digital technologies to enhance learning.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until November 2027 (0.8 FTE).
• Competitive salary range £26,400 – £35,580 (actual) / £33,000 – £44,475 (FTE).
