Independent Living Area Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Independent Living Area Manager to lead and develop high‑quality services for customers aged 55+ across a defined geographical area. Based in Bedford, you will oversee multiple independent living schemes and the 24‑hour response service, ensuring safe, person‑centred support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams across several locations.
• Foster a collaborative culture with clear accountability and proactive leadership.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of independent living schemes, maintaining consistency and quality.
• Manage the 24‑hour response service, ensuring timely and effective incident handling.
• Use performance data and Operational Health Indicators to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality and regulatory standards.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and contribute to cross‑organisational projects.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and team development experience in housing or care services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to use data for decision‑making.
• Highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Resilient and able to handle complex or high‑risk situations.

• Salary of £41,880.72 per year plus a £2,000 car allowance.
