Indirect Tax Global Lead

About the role

We are looking for a talented and pragmatic Senior VAT / Indirect Tax Manager to join our Tax team in London, reporting to the Head of Tax. This is a high‑impact role for someone who combines strong indirect tax expertise with a builder’s mindset. You will lead VAT and wider indirect tax matters across a fast‑moving global fintech, while helping us modernise how tax work gets done.

Key responsibilities

• Lead indirect tax support for the business, focusing on VAT across the UK and international footprint.
• Oversee outsourced indirect tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely returns and filings.
• Reassess and improve the current outsource model to drive clearer roles and stronger service levels.
• Own and continuously improve indirect tax processes, controls and documentation.
• Use data from Workday, Looker and BigQuery to validate transactions and improve decision‑making.
• Partner with Finance, Product, Legal and other teams to embed tax considerations early in business decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant and/or tax adviser with significant VAT/indirect tax experience.
• Strong financial services background, preferably in payments or fintech.
• Proven experience overseeing outsourced providers and optimising delivery models.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes, controls and ways of working.
• Comfortable working with large data sets and financial systems.
