Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the indirect tax function for a growing international business. You will be responsible for ensuring VAT compliance across the UK and Europe while supporting strategic decision‑making and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own UK and European VAT compliance and the preparation and submission of VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary VAT advisor to finance and operational teams.
• Support cross‑border transactions and the movement of goods throughout Europe.
• Manage relationships with external advisers and tax authorities.
• Lead VAT audits and resolve technical VAT queries.
• Identify and implement process, system, and control improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified tax or accounting professional (CTA, ACA or equivalent) with strong indirect tax experience.
• Proven experience in UK VAT, with European VAT exposure highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to handle cross‑border transactions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing VAT audits and working with external advisers.
• Strong analytical abilities and confidence working with financial systems and large data sets.
