Industrial & Automatic Door Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial & Automatic Door Engineer to install, repair and maintain a variety of doors, gates and barriers across Northern England and Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Service market‑leading and other manufacturers' doors at customer sites, performing both mechanical and electrical work.
• Install and commission a range of industrial and automatic door products.
• Work safely at height using a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP).
• Liaise with colleagues and customers to ensure successful fault finding, repair, planned maintenance, commissioning or handover.

Required profile

• Knowledge and experience servicing and repairing industrial doors such as roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, rapid‑rise doors, and horizontal/vertical sliding doors.
• Strong mechanical engineering competence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members at all levels.
• Proven fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to operate a MEWP and work safely at heights.

Required skills

• Industrial door servicing and repair.
• Mechanical engineering.
• MEWP operation.
• Electrical wiring, containment installation and control circuit termination.
• Door motor and control troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of safety devices and anti‑fallback mechanisms for doors.
• 18th edition IEE certification (preferred).
• ECS card (preferred).
• IPAF and PASMA qualifications (preferred).
• Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) safety certificate (preferred).
