Industry Placement Adviser

About the role

The Industry Placement Adviser works on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis until 31 July 2027, delivering 30 hours per week across 40 weeks each year. Based at the Slough & Langley College campus, the role bridges the construction sector and education, preparing students for their future careers and securing on‑site placements that meet curriculum standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with construction employers.
• Identify, arrange and monitor on‑site placement opportunities for students.
• Visit employer sites regularly to ensure placement quality and compliance.
• Provide guidance and support to students to help them transition into the workplace.
• Collaborate with college staff to align placements with course requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in practical trades, site management or subcontracting (e.g., site supervisor, tradesperson, team leader).
• Desire to mentor young people and support their career development.
• Full manual driving licence for use of college vehicles.
• Ability to travel to employer locations across the South East.
