Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer – Microsoft Azure (Remote, UK)

About the role

We are seeking an Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join a large technology consultancy supporting UK Government customers. The role focuses on designing, maintaining and improving hybrid on‑premise and Microsoft Azure environments within a secure setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain hybrid infrastructure across Azure and on‑premise systems.
• Resolve incidents and implement technical changes following change‑control procedures.
• Administer Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop automation scripts and infrastructure as code using PowerShell, Terraform and Bicep.
• Monitor platform performance and manage backup, resilience and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with project, service‑desk and operations teams to deliver reliable services.

Required profile

• Active Security Clearance (SC) required.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Windows Server infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Solid PowerShell scripting and automation background.
• Knowledge of Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper‑V administration.
• Understanding of Azure security and hybrid infrastructure concepts.
