Infrastructure Engineer – 2 Line IT Engineer (Infrastructure)

About the role

We are looking for a 2 Line IT Engineer (Infrastructure) to join our Manchester team. This is an advanced first‑line operational support position, not a traditional helpdesk, offering a clear path for career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts from LogicMonitor and Azure Monitor, maintaining dashboards and adjusting thresholds.
• Manage the full ticket lifecycle in ServiceNow, ensuring SLA compliance and handling 15‑25 tickets daily.
• Validate daily Veeam Backup & Replication jobs for ~1,290 servers and monitor Azure Backup/Recovery Services Vault status.
• Provide first‑response support for P1 and P2 incidents, including on‑call rotation (1‑in‑5 weeks) for 24x7 coverage.
• Perform basic Windows Server administration, VMware vSphere console tasks, and Azure VM operations.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of enterprise infrastructure support experience, preferably in a managed‑services environment.
• Proven experience with monitoring platforms (LogicMonitor, Azure Monitor) and ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), VMware vSphere, and Azure VM management.
• Hands‑on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and Azure Backup services.
• Willingness to participate in a weekly on‑call rotation for critical incident response.
