Infrastructure Engineer (DV Cleared) – £80k-£100k

About the role

We are seeking a DV‑cleared Infrastructure Engineer to join a global company in Salford. The role involves designing, implementing and supporting secure IT infrastructure across virtualisation, networking, storage and automation platforms. You will work on‑site in a collaborative environment, delivering resilient solutions for critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy VMware‑based virtualisation solutions (ESXi, vCenter, Cloud Foundation).
• Manage Windows, Linux and macOS server environments.
• Implement container platforms and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes.
• Configure and maintain NSX virtual networking and storage technologies.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python or Java.
• Apply Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Foreman, Kickstart/PXE or MDT.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Monitor system health and optimise performance of critical services.

Required profile

• Current DV clearance.
• Proven experience in enterprise‑level infrastructure engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on‑site.
