Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Windows Engineer to join a finance‑sector client in central London. The role involves supporting, maintaining and enhancing a large Microsoft Windows environment while ensuring security, reliability and performance. You will work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to critical projects and day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and support enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Build, configure, deploy and de‑commission physical and virtual servers.
• Administer core Microsoft services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Support VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and support migrations.
• Produce technical documentation, follow ITIL processes and participate in on‑call rota and out‑of‑hours maintenance.

Required profile

• Active SC Clearance.
• Proven experience administering enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within an ITIL‑based service management environment.
