Inpatient A&E Veterinary Surgeon

About the role

Animal Trust is opening a new 24/7 veterinary hospital in Hull in January 2027. As an Inpatient A&E Veterinary Surgeon you will oversee both inpatient care and emergency cases, delivering high‑quality, affordable treatment for a diverse caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inpatient wards, ensuring optimal care and recovery for hospitalized pets.
• Handle emergency presentations, performing procedures yourself or coordinating with the clinical team.
• Collaborate with skilled colleagues to provide comprehensive, continuous patient care.

Required profile

• Strong team player with a genuine passion for animal welfare and a social heart.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, busy environment and committed to a not‑for‑profit ethos.
• Willing to develop technical capability and uphold the highest standards of care.

Required skills

• Excellent technical capability in veterinary practice.
• Outstanding communication skills, especially in stressful situations.
• Strong organisational abilities; open, honest and trustworthy.
