Inspection Engineer

About the role

The Inspection Engineer will support the Senior Engineer in delivering and operating inspection systems for offshore assets. The role ensures plant and equipment are inspected according to company codes, client requirements, and legislation, and that results are communicated to the Asset Integrity team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior discipline engineers in technical and operational problem assessment.
• Participate in risk‑based assessment (RBA) reviews and develop inspection programmes.
• Create detailed plans, work‑scopes and workpacks for corrosion and integrity monitoring, and capture them in the Maintenance Management System (MMS) or Inspection Management Database (IDMS).
• Plan and organise mobilisation logistics, including technical briefings, accommodation, travel and equipment.
• Review and process inspection and anomaly reports, update MMS/IDMS with inspection data, and maintain registers such as dead‑leg and repair registers.
• Analyse corrosion monitoring data and recommend programme adjustments.
• Generate performance and integrity reports, monitor KPIs and support resource planning.
• Perform offshore/site inspection duties within the assigned Letter of Authority.

Required profile

• Minimum UKAS RG2 Category 4 compatible ONC in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 3.
• EngTech (or equivalent) and HNC or higher in an engineering discipline.
• Working towards or holding Incorporated Engineer status.
• Offshore medical clearance, BOSIET and MIST certifications.
• Relevant NDT certification for core techniques.
